Social Media Manager

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Manager with two or more years’ experience to help bring the IPA to life across our channels and take our social presence to the next level.

You will be a hands-on creator with a strong instinct for distinctive, platform native content that cuts through, builds community and drives meaningful engagement. You will showcase the work the IPA delivers for and with the industry, bringing its people, ideas, events and initiatives to life through compelling, consistent storytelling that resonates with existing members and attracts the next generation of agencies.

The role

Evolve the IPA’s social content strategy, aligning to organisational priorities:

  • Develop content that broadens the IPA’s reach
  • Create high-quality, original content across formats including posts, carousels, short-form video and interviews
  • Work with colleagues to turn complex industry topics into accessible, engaging content
  • Bring consistency and creativity to content output and tone of voice, ensuring a strong visual and editorial identity
  • Attend IPA events and industry moments to capture and publish real-time content
  • Work across the organisation to surface stories, ideas and content opportunities, with a view to capturing and publishing.
    Performance and optimisation
  • Track and analyse performance across platforms, optimising content accordingly
  • Create reports on key performance indicators such as reach, engagement and sentiment
  • Use listening tools to track brand mentions and engage users

Essential skills and experience

  • A strong portfolio showcasing clear understanding of platform nuances
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills
  • Experience with short form video and creator style content
  • Experience creating content for B2B audiences that drives both reach and meaningful engagement
  • Hands on content creation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of creative and editing tools
  • Experience using analytics to inform decisions and improve performance
  • Proficiency with content management, social listening and scheduling platforms such as Hootsuite, Social Pilot, Brand Watch or similar

About you

  • Ability to create engaging, fast-turnaround visual content
  • Have strong editorial instincts and know what makes people stop, read and engage
  • You are commercially aware and understand how content supports growth
  • You are proactive in finding stories rather than waiting for them
  • You are comfortable working at pace and managing multiple priorities

If this sounds like you and you’d like to be considered, please send your CV and application to [email protected]

We are happy to consider full time or 4 days per week

Closing date for applications is 29 June 2026

Everyone at the IPA is expected to work as part of a team. On occasions this may include covering other people’s work for short periods, contributing know-how and time to joint projects, and helping other staff members with training and development.

Overall, you are expected to be flexible where necessary to meet the needs of the IPA. Accordingly, the precise description and nature of your job may be varied from time to time, and you may be required to carry out other duties within the scope of your role.
