If our people and our businesses are to thrive, it’s time to put mental health wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do and prove we mean what we say. Whether you are new to this, or you are a long way into the journey, below are some of the best resources out there that can help the mental wellbeing of yourself, your staff, and our industry, along with case studies from those already at the forefront.

People First Promise

To help ensure these resources and learnings are embedded into the day-to-day workings and culture of your organisations we’ve created a People First Promise – a clear way to demonstrate to your employees, future talent, and the wider industry that you take your duty of care seriously and in tangible ways.

You must be able to demonstrate you’ve incorporated initiatives that align with the three core sections of the Promise – Empower, Support, Prevent – to earn an IPA People First Promise badge of honour. Your initiatives can be from the resources provided below or from your own. You choose. The People First Promise badge is valid for two years. Your company logo will appear on the IPA website along with other organisations that have earned the badge.

 Adland’s wellbeing resources are separated out into three core areas: Empower, Support and Prevent.


These resources seek to empower individuals on their mental health and wellbeing journeys - from raising awareness, to forming employee resource groups, to training and CPD, and more.


These resources relate to what businesses can do to support their people’s mental health and wellbeing - from providing training for managers, to making appropriate adjustments and accommodations, to fostering inclusive cultures, preventing sexual harassment and more.


These resources are designed to help leaders prevent harm to their people’s mental health and wellbeing. This includes monitoring workplace mental health and wellbeing, identifying areas for intervention and making the relevant improvements.
